Rockville Women’s Center medical services are focused on women’s health and include:
Putting women's health first
Verify your Pregnancy at No Cost to You
If you think you might be pregnant, we are your best first step. Rockville Women’s Center can provide you with an on-site pregnancy test at no cost to you. Pregnancy tests are most accurate when taken between 21 to 24 days after the first day of your last period.
A pregnancy test detects the hormone known as hCG, which is found in the urine of women who are pregnant.
One of our compassionate staff members will administer the test and discuss your results with you immediately following the test.
Additionally, if you have had sex, you might be at risk for an STD/STI. A Sexually Transmitted Infection can cause serious harm to you and your pregnancy if left untreated. For most positive pregnancy test patients, we test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea and can provide you with referrals for any other testing you may need.
Verify Gestational Age at No Cost to You
A pregnancy test is not conclusive. The test responds to a hormone your body releases when you are pregnant called HCG.
However, about 30% of all pregnancies end in natural miscarriage. Though your HCG levels may still be high, you might not have a viable pregnancy. Ultrasound is the earliest means of detecting a viable pregnancy. Rockville Women’s Clinic provides ultrasound services at no cost to you.
The gestational age of your pregnancy will determine the type and cost of the abortion procedure you would be eligible to receive. Ultrasound also provides this information — at no cost to you. You will know this information is accurate as we allow you to see the ultrasound if you so choose.
Verify your STD Status at No Cost to You
Consider your future reproductive health. Unlike some of the STD’s you may have learned about in high school health class, it’s not always easy to tell when you have contracted either chlamydia or gonorrhea.
Both STD’s are often asymptomatic — meaning they usually don’t cause noticeable symptoms. In fact, many people, particularly women, have no idea that they have either chlamydia or gonorrhea.
If you have an STD, it may travel through your cervix (which must be opened for an abortion). This could cause PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease), which is not only painful but could cause infertility.
We test for the two most common and treatable STD’s — at no charge to you. Most abortion providers may not offer this service prior to your abortion.
Abortion providers, even those that are non-profit, charge for all services.
Though non-profits use a “sliding scale” based on your income, you will have to pay out of pocket, use insurance, or need to apply for Medicare.
Rockville Women’s Center is a non-profit organization, and is free and confidential for everyone, no matter what your circumstances. We don’t require your social security number or your financial status. Abortion providers require both.
We are here to assist you with accurate medical information, and important facts, so you can make an informed decision. Because we do not perform or refer for abortion or profit from any choice you make, there is no pressure. We inform, YOU decide.
