If your pregnancy test is positive and you do not know what you want to do, our next step to help you is to perform an ultrasound. An ultrasound provides you with important information on the development of the pregnancy. It gives vital details needed to determine all of the options available to you.
Why Do I Need An Ultrasound?
You need an ultrasound to confirm vital pregnancy details and know what options you need to consider. An ultrasound helps you know:
What is an ultrasound?
An ultrasound is a painless and straightforward medical tool that allows a medical professional and you to see a picture of your pregnancy. Often, the terms sonogram and ultrasound are used interchangeably. However, there’s a difference between the two: An ultrasound machine is a tool used to take a picture. A sonogram is a picture that the ultrasound generates. At Rockville Women’s Center, our certified sonographers and nurses perform an ultrasound. Our Staff Physician then reviews your ultrasound. The sonogram determines the viability, position, and gestational age of the baby. It does not diagnose anything or determine the sex of the baby.
All of the services we offer at Rockville Women’s Center are confidential and provided at no cost.
